How it works

NEXO systems provide secure and customized connection solutions to vehicles and other types of remote assets. Electronics modules installed in diverse types of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, trucks, tractors…) or on other remote asset transmit, via GSM in SMS and data formats, information relating to the vehicle and its movements: its position, speed, unauthorized entries, accidents, petrol and oil consumption…

The information transmitted by the module installed in the vehicles, known as “clients”, are received by a server and processed to enable their use in the development of emergency, security, fleet management, and diagnostic programs. The information gathered and processed by the server is accessible only to authorized users, who are able to monitor the status of the vehicle or other remote assets through whichever means of communication they choose calls to cellular or fixed-line phones, e-mail or fax messages. The service is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The goal of the NEXO system is to guarantee a complete, Client-server and IP-based infrastructure that allows a global interconnection between mobile assets and fixed/mobile stations such as PCs-client, mobile phones, palm PC’s and so on. Server-side customized applications together with a secure and robust Communication server, guarantee a secure access to the vehicle information available thanks to the telematics device, called ICD10, located in the vehicle. The Communication Server guarantees events handling, data management and data protection. The Application Server can be provided by NEXO or by third parts. In any case the Application Server used the NEXO Infrastructure. Client applications running on the telematics device allow, furthermore, the access to different services according to customer requirements and device generation scheduling.
